چکیده
We carry them in our skin pores through entire life, from birth to death. offer shelter and return, they tidy-up pores. go on with busy day life sleep. They wake up when we sleep while are deeply dreaming, move around, visit other mates, reproduce. Despite being ‘very own’ companions, until recently, knew very little about their struggle.

Demodex Folliculorum in Man
Demodex folliculorum, commonly known as the follicle mite is a parasite of man in all parts of the globe. It was discovered independently by He:Qle (1841) and Berger (1845). Simon (1842) described it as Acarus folliculorum. Owen (1843) reevaluated the genus as Demodex. According to Akbulatova (1963) there are two subspecies namely Demodex folliculorum longus and Demodex folliculorum brevis, syn...
متن کاملGlobal divergence of the human follicle mite Demodex folliculorum: Persistent associations between host ancestry and mite lineages.
Microscopic mites of the genus Demodex live within the hair follicles of mammals and are ubiquitous symbionts of humans, but little molecular work has been done to understand their genetic diversity or transmission. Here we sampled mite DNA from 70 human hosts of diverse geographic ancestries and analyzed 241 sequences from the mitochondrial genome of the species Demodex folliculorum. Phylogene...
متن کاملVariant of Demodex folliculorum infesting the eyelids.
The mite Demodexfolliculorum, which is currently evoking interest amongst ophthalmologists throughout the world, has been thoroughly described in detail by Coston (i967), Smith and McCulloch (I969), and English (I969). Mites and ticks, in contradistinction to the other arachnids have fused segments, giving a characteristic morphological appearance. Accordingly, the adult type of Demodex follicu...
متن کاملHuman Demodex Mite: The Versatile Mite of Dermatological Importance
Demodex mite is an obligate human ecto-parasite found in or near the pilo-sebaceous units. Demodex folliculorum and Demodex brevis are two species typically found on humans. Demodex infestation usually remains asymptomatic and may have a pathogenic role only when present in high densities and also because of immune imbalance. All cutaneous diseases caused by Demodex mites are clubbed under the ...
